How to Use: The Simple Guide

For best results, prepare the paste ahead of time to allow the dye to release.

Preparation: Dye Release

1. Mix: In a non-metallic bowl, mix the required amount of Henna powder with warm water, black tea/coffee/ decoction, beetroot juice or curd to form a thick, lump-free paste.

2. Add Acid (Optional): Add a teaspoon of lemon juice  to the mix. The slightly acidic environment helps the dye molecule (Lawsone) release effectively.

3. Rest: Cover the bowl and let the paste rest for 4–8 hours (or overnight) at room temperature. The longer the rest, the richer the colour will be. The paste is ready when you see a darker layer of colour on top.

Application

1. Protect: Apply petroleum jelly or oil around your hairline, ears, and neck to prevent skin staining. Wear gloves.

2. Apply: Apply the paste generously to your hair, starting from the roots and working your way down to the tips, section by section.

3. Cover: Once your hair is fully coated, wrap your head tightly with a plastic wrap or shower cap to retain heat and moisture, which helps the colour set.

4. Wait: Leave the Henna on for 1-2 hours. For a darker colour or stubborn grey hair, you may leave it longer

Rinsing

1. Rinse First: Rinse your hair thoroughly with plain water until all the Henna mud is removed and the water runs clear.

2. Condition/Cleanse: Do not use shampoo immediately.  For the deepest, longest-lasting colour, avoid shampoo for the next 24–48 hours as the colour continues to deepen during this time.

3. Important Notes

• Colour: The final colour will be a reddish-brown and will deepen over 24-48 hours after rinsing.

• Storage: KEEP AWAY FROM MOISTURE. Store the remaining powder in an airtight container.

• Patch Test: Always perform a patch test on a small section of hair (and skin) 24 hours before full application to check for any reaction and to preview the colour.

Amogha's Natural Indigo Powder

Indigo, derived from the Indigofera tinctoria plant, is a powerful natural dye used for centuries to achieve rich, deep hair colours. How to Use: The Two-Step Process (Required for Best Results)

Indigo must always be used after a Henna application. Indigo alone on grey hair may result in an unwanted blue-green tint.

STEP 1: The Henna Base

First, apply the Amoghas Natural Henna Powder (as directed in the Henna instructions) and rinse it out thoroughly with water. Your grey hair will now be a reddish-orange or deep red colour. This base is essential for the Indigo to bind correctly.

STEP 2: The Indigo Application

1. Mix: In a non-metallic bowl, mix the required amount of Indigo powder with warm water  to form a smooth, thick, creamy paste.

   • Note:. Use it immediately after mixing.

2. Apply: Apply the paste quickly and generously to your towel-dried, Henna-treated hair, focusing on the areas you want to darken (e.g., the red roots).

3. Cover: Cover your hair with a plastic wrap or shower cap to keep the paste moist and warm.

4. Wait:

   • For Dark Brown: Leave the Indigo on for 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.

   • For Rich Black: Leave the Indigo on for 2 to 3 hours.

5. Rinse: Rinse your hair thoroughly with plain water until the water runs clear. Do NOT use shampoo or conditioner for the next 24-48 hours.

Important Notes

• Colour Setting: The final colour will continue to deepen over the next 24-48 hours as the Indigo oxidizes.

• Shampoo: For the longest-lasting colour, avoid using shampoo for at least 48 hours after the final rinse.

• Storage: KEEP AWAY FROM MOISTURE. Indigo's potency degrades quickly when exposed to air and light, so store any unused powder in an airtight, cool, dark place.
